We prefer a system that builds from the ground up, taking fewer assumptions for granted. We believe in walking before running, and we do believe in training wheels. By making sure we understand the basic foundations of knowledge, we leave less room for mistakes later.
We don't believe in holding hands indefinitely. We understand learning is painful and can induce fear. We want to affirm: that fear and pain is normal to an extent. We want to get over the humps and walls, so learning is less paralyzing and you don't need any help at all relatively quickly.
We work day jobs, and so rely on our academic experience from years ago along with real world experience which is less theoretical. We are here to help mainly with the basics in Math and Science, but we are capable of sitting down and working through complex problems with the aid of a book or internet. Our most effective asset is clearing up misconceptions.
For all but especially for young men, we have experience working with and being on what they call the ASD. We have experience with being ADHD and working with men and women with Aspergers and/or Autism though we aren't licensed in any way, to be clear. As well, we have experience being "weird/different", and feeling dumb. But we're not.
